Worth a closer look
Signs Your Remodel Should Not Wait
- A floor that slopes or bounces when you walk across it, which someone should look at before new flooring or tile goes down
- A stalled project left with open framing, bare drywall, or no flooring
- Cracks that keep reopening above a doorway or along a wall seam
- Cabinets or a countertop pulling away from the wall
- Stair treads or a handrail that flex or feel loose under your hand
How GetMatchedPro Helps
GetMatchedPro is not a remodeling company. We take your project details and pass them to independent local pros in your area, and they reach out directly to talk about the work and what it costs.
Straight answers
What GetMatchedPro does — and doesn't
- We do
- Collect your project details in four short steps and pass them to independent professionals who work in your area.
- We don't
- Perform, price, license, supervise, or guarantee any of the work. The pro you hire is an independent business.
- Your choice
- Talking to a pro is not an obligation. You decide who to hire, and whether to hire anyone.
Questions
Remodeling questions
How much does a remodel cost?
It depends on the size of the space, the materials you pick, and labor rates where you live. GetMatchedPro does not set or quote prices. The pro who calls you will walk the job, ask what you want, and give you their own number.
Do I need a permit for my project?
That is up to your city or county. Additions, moving walls, and relocating plumbing or wiring usually need one, while paint and flooring often do not. Ask the pro who calls what your building department requires and who pulls the permit.
Can I stay in the house during the work?
Many people do, though it depends on the scope. Losing your only kitchen or only bathroom is harder than closing off a basement. Ask the pro about dust barriers, work hours, and which rooms will be off limits before you decide.
What should I ask the pro who calls me?
Ask for the scope in writing, how changes to the plan get priced, how payments are spread out, and roughly when they could start. You can also ask them to show their license and insurance for your state, and to share past projects like yours.
What do you need from me to send the request?
A short description of the project, your name and email, your street address and ZIP, and a phone number where a pro can reach you. The more you say about the room and what you want changed, the better prepared the call will be.
