Questions
Roofing questions
Can my roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?
That depends on how old the roof is, how much of it is affected, and what the deck underneath looks like. A single leak around a vent is often a repair. Widespread curling, bald spots, or a soft deck usually points toward replacement, and a roofer can tell you which after looking at it.
How soon should I do something about a small leak?
Water that gets into the deck and insulation does not stop on its own, and a small stain can hide a much wetter area above it. Most roofers treat an active leak as something to look at soon, and a tarp can hold things over until the weather allows a full repair.
Will my homeowners insurance cover a new roof?
It depends on your policy and the cause. Many policies cover sudden damage from wind or hail but not wear that comes from age. Your insurer makes that call, though many roofers are used to walking an adjuster through what they found.
Does GetMatchedPro do the roofing work?
No. We are a request service, so we take the details you give us and pass them to independent roofing contractors who work in your area. They reach out to you directly, and the pricing, scheduling, and the work itself are between you and the company you pick.
What should I have ready when a roofer calls back?
It helps to know roughly how old the roof is, whether it has been repaired before, and where you see or hear the problem inside the house. Photos taken from the ground help too. If the roof is steep or two stories, say so, since that changes how a crew plans the visit.
