Does GetMatchedPro dry the house out?
No. We own no fans and no dehumidifiers. Independent local restoration pros read what you wrote and bring their own equipment, and the schedule gets set between you and them.
How fast does wet drywall go bad?
Fast. Water wicks up into drywall and insulation quickly, and once the paper backing stays damp, mold has what it wants. Cut off the source if you can, and keep air moving in that room.
Should I call my insurer before a pro comes?
Call the insurer first. Your claim turns on what caused the water and on what your policy covers, so open the file and ask what documentation they want before anything gets torn out. Photograph the wet wall while it is still wet.
What does the drying and cleanup cost?
We do not guess. What drives the number is how much material has to come out and whether mold turned up behind the wet drywall, and the pro settles that after walking the room. Ask before the fans arrive.
Can I just wipe the mold off with bleach?
On tile or a tub surround, sure. Drywall and wood are porous, so bleach leaves the roots and the water source alone, and the spot comes back in the same place. Find the leak first.
